April 14th is Good Friday!
Every friday is a good friday, right?
Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus.
Here is wishing everyone a great Easter Weekend!
Everyone should emulate Jesus the best we can, er, minus the crucifixion
part! Try Surfing instead, it might be considered to be
like walking on water...
Happy Easter!

Bells Beach Men’s WCT contest started this week. Being that
Australia is on the other side of the planet the contest has been
starting around 7:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.
The webcast has been excellent and the surf even better. Surf has
been running 3-6 feet with super glassy conditions. Swell size is
forecasted to increase for Round 3.
Round 3 should start Friday morning (Australian time), Thursday
evening for us folks in Florida.
The main players are still in the contest with only a few surprises
going into Round 3.
The ASP is putting out great video clips of the contest here: ASP

Live webcast can be found through ASP’s
main site: ASP

This is contest two of the Men's 2006 season. The next Women WCT
contest starts April 23rd in Fiji.

Mag Round 2 Coverage

"Bells Beach is comprised of several
breaks, The Bowl, Outside Bells, Rincon, Centreside, Southside
and Winkipop among them. Outside Bells is the main break that
produces a long, fast, even wall when it gets above six foot.
The Bowl is the steep final section of the wave, and just
east of The Bowl, Winki runs over a reef producing a quick,
hollow wave that often surpasses conditions at Bells proper."

Rookie Jarrad Howse (Aus)
posted his first heat win of the season over Brazilian star
Adriano De Souza in round 2.

Clean offshore waves
and a slight swell increase have provided surfers with a classic
stage on which they can show their wares.

Mark Occhilupo belted
the clean Bells Beach walls to walk away with a solid victory
over Roy Powers and Dean Morrison in round 1.

The competitor’s
area has the best seats in the house.

The Rip Curl Pro Bells
Beach is the longest-running professional surfing contest
in existence. The event has been run at Easter time each year
since 1973.

Bells Beach is the only
Surfing Reserve in the world meaning that the area surrounding
the break will never be developed.

Kelly Slater made it through
round 1 easily.

Bells Beach is located
near the surf industry Mecca Torquay, the birthplace of Rip
Curl Wetsuits in the 1960s.
The honour roll for the Rip Curl Pro reads
like a who’s who of the sport.
