Fresh Friday December 2 2005

Pro Surf Ramble

The Triple Crown of surfing for both Men’s and Women’s contest have been live webcasted for the past two weeks. They are sliding into the Pipeline contest coming up which is always fun to watch! Coverage and news stories can be found at ASP’s excellent website here: http://www.aspworldtour.com/

We are looking for a Kelly Slater and Andy Irons showdown at Pipe! Of course, Kelly all ready won the World Title (Slater Number Seven), but rivalries will be rivalries and both surfers will be looking to be crowned King of Pipe! Pipe contest window opens up Dec. 8th.

Locally, the Sebastian Inlet Pro 2006 is just a month away. This event last year was a very fun contest to be apart of. Practice up on your photography skills as if last year’s photo shoot was any indication, we should get a new crop of digital photos! Especially after Santa has been good to all of us and gives us new equipment! With the addition of the Women’s Pro event this year, we should get plenty of good surfing shots. I think photos of women surfing are better to look at then the men’s. But, that could just be my biased viewpoint!

We Are Water Happenings

I am hastily typing this as fast as I can…the surf is up this Friday morning and I’m just rushing to get into the water. So, luckily I got a couple of new articles out earlier in the week to gab about and then go surfing.

An anonymous e-mail sent me this article from inspiration from the We Are Water Star Date Link (Star Date). I’m eventually going to develop that link with help from another friend. But, Long Away And Far Ago is very similar to what We Are Water wants to do with that link. I want to mix Surf History with Surf Fantasy and make the setting in the future with a galaxy-surf-writer and his Star Date journal entries.

Also, Dermot’s Piers is up and this article reminiscences to a day when surfing evolved around the numerous piers that once lined the coast.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, See ya’ll next week.

Time to Go Surfing!
