taking the win. Article on contest here: Chelsea
Georgeson Wins the Rip Curl Pro Mademoiselle

Epic waves for the Rip Curl Mademosielle.

Six times ASP world champ Layne Beachley
(Manly, NSW, Aus) finished equal fifth. Beachley, fresh
off a win in Brazil last week, advanced to the quarterfinals
where she was sensationally beaten by rookie Jessi Miley-Dyer
(Aus).

Melanie Redman-Carr finished runner
up and moved back into first place on the ASP Women’s
World Tour ratings.

Chelsea Georgeson’s clean, polished
surfing saw her claim her first victory of the 2006 ASP
Women’s World Tour season.

I spent the Labor Day weekend volunteering for the National
Kidney Foundation Surf Contest in Cocoa Beach. The surf was
very small but contestable. It was fun to be up in the scaffolding
as a contest judge. I hope I was impartial enough! Below are
some candid photos.

We Are Water Happenings
I missed last week’s Fresh Friday article and no new articles
have been published. I’ve been slowly working on the business
side of things and working on the E-commerce and developing products.
We Are Water is a Florida
Corporation and I just got the EIN for it. This will allow me to
be legit when it comes to open the E-commerce site. I’m
looking to develop a product line that first will concentrate on
Surf Tee-shirts and branch off into other stuff as time progresses.
I’m learning a lot about business as I’ve been a Computer
Engineer for so long that switching hats is not easy! I’m
more analytical than business savvy!
East Central Florida has seen small surf the past week and a half.
The NKF contest did indeed have surf throughout the 3 day weekend.
It was minimal conditions however. The surfers that competed in
the contest really made the waves look better than they actually
were. The pros are amazing in this regard. How they can make a one
foot wave look epic is beyond me. But, they pull it off!
Tropical Storm Florence looks to provide the goods next
week with some decent surf. I think I speak for everyone when I
say, “Bring it On.”
We are way overdue for some juice and a week long swell will definitely
be welcome around here. We are entering the peak of Hurricane Season
(Sept. 10th) and so far do not have much to show for it. Hopefully,
Florence does as forecasted and brings in the juice. Plus, I need
new surfing photos for the site!
Thanks for Checking out We
Are Water
Fresh
