Whatever the reason but bad luck is associated with Friday the 13th. I’m not superstitious of course but for some reason when the 13th lands on a Friday I get spooked. Thanks Hollywood!
I took a ton of photos yesterday at the Sebastian Pro
contest. Thursday for the finals the surf was very good and glassy. The
twin brothers Damien and CJ Hobgood took first and second respectfully.
The contest was exciting to watch as the surfing talent was amazing. First
Peak delivered and I’ll talk more about the contest in later Fresh
Friday articles. For now, here is the photo album for the contest. The
higher resolution shots look a lot better but these are reduced to save
bandwidth.

2005 Year in Review
I initially wanted to write a full spread article on the year 2005 surf season however time constraints have me limited to a few paragraphs. In my opinion, 2005 was an awesome year for Florida Surf. We had a record number of tropical storms and both East and West coast scored some epic sessions.
The year started out with a swell for the inaugural Sebastian Pro contest last January and we had some memorable swells in the Spring. Summer was fairly consistent with the months of September and October had back-to-back swells for the whole two months. Of course we saw great devastation in the storms Katrina/Rita, and Wilma, however these storms gave us great surf as well!
It was a memorable year!
For me, it was great and a day in December 9th had a epic one day swell that really sticks out in my mind. A strong gale formed off the Florida coast on Thursday with the following Friday the winds turned offshore. It was the last time I wrote a Fresh Friday article and since then I have been flashing back to that swell as one of the best of the year! Not to rub it in, but I finished off the Year Snowboarding in Utah. So, no one can take 2005 away from me! Its in the record books and in my opinion goes down as one of the best ever!

Other than the Sebastian Pro Photo Album, nothing else has been published
on We Are Water. The holidays sucked
up all the webmastering time but it looks as if We
Are Water is back on track for the New Year. I’m expecting
some new articles from logjammer and others.
We Are Water is now a year old as the domain name was just registered for it’s second year. Its been fun, as always contact me for any suggestions or comments.
